Manhattan Beach: Prop 218 Vote, County Arts Internship Program, Roundhouse Marine Studies Lab

Prop 218 Vote

Manhattan Beach will hold two informational meetings to discuss its upcoming Prop. 218 process regarding new waste hauling rates. Last month, the city awarded its next solid waste contract to waste hauler Waste Management. The contract will go into effect June 1.

Prop. 218 requires local governments to inform property owners of proposed rate increases, as well as their right to protest the rate increase.

Meetings will be held on Wednesday, March 30 and Thursday, April 7 at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 1400 Highland Ave. Both meetings will be broadcast live on the city’s cable channel and the April 7 meeting will be uploaded to the city’s website.

All property owners and tenants will receive information from Waste Management in the coming months to educate residents and business owners on the new contract.

For more information regarding the Prop. 218 process, contact Steve Charelian at 310-802-5555 or email utilityrates@citymb.info. For questions regarding programs, services, and rates of the solid waste contract, contact Anna Luke at 310- 802-5363.
