A la Carte: Bakeries in transition, secret menus, dining events, and more

After 12 years, and three-and-a-half tons of butter, “Baker Dave” Wallace and his son William are turning over the keys to Hermosa Pie and Cake to a new owner. The south Hermosa Avenue bakery was famous for the purity of its fruit pies.
