Schools Meeting
The Hermosa Beach City School District will host a special meeting tonight.
The meeting, which will begin at 7 p.m. at City Council Chambers, will gather community input on educational priorities for the city’s schools, and collect residents’ perspective on how those priorities should affect capital projects in the district.
is one of a series of envisioning workshops that the district has held over the past year to gather community input on the issues facing the district. Previous meetings have focused on bond measures and design alternatives for the reopening of North School.
Study session
Hermosa Beach will host an Issue Papers Study Session this Saturday.
The session will address a wide variety of topics facing the city. Among the issues to be addressed are the city’s long-term financial plan, its general plan and local coastal program, and employee compensation.
The study session will take at 8 a.m. in City Council Chambers, and is expected to last till 5 p.m.
Hotel open house
The developers of the Strand & Pier project will host a community gathering next Thursday to discuss the plans for the hotel and retail complex.
The event will be at 1332 Hermosa Ave. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Those wishing to attend should RSVP via email to Outreach@StrandandPier.com.
Plans for the project are not yet available online, but a hard copy is available for public viewing at city hall in the Community Development department.
