This Week at ‘Concerts in the Park’: Fantastic Diamond

Fantastic Diamond, a five-piece Neil Diamond tribute band, takes its audience through the legend’s greatest hits spanning 40 years. Lead singer Kevin Hogan is known for his uncanny impersonation of Diamond, from his vocal prowess to costume and attitude.
“Concerts in the Park” is an annual event organized by the Parks and Recreation Department. It runs every Sunday until September 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Polliwog Park. For more information, visit citymb.info.
Older Adults Arts Show
An opening reception for the fourth annual Older Adults Arts Show will take place Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Manhattan Beach Creative Arts Center.
The art show, hosted by the city’s parks and recreation department, will showcase artwork on a variety of media by more than 40 members of the city’s older adults community. The exhibition will be open until Sep. 5. Gallery hours are from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.

Chamber Economic Forum
Registration is open for the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce’s annual economic forum, which will take place Sep. 13 from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Manhattan Beach Marriott.
The event, titled “Residential and Commercial Communities: Playing Together in the Same Sand Box,” will feature keynote speaker Jan Perry, L.A. City General Manager. Other panelists include Ray Montano, economic development director for the City of Pasadena, and Lisa McKay of the Buxton Consulting Group.
