Local women launch book
Do you remember your first celebrity crush? How did you feel when your younger sibling was born? Does your aging body get you down? Regardless of race, creed, ethnicity or area of origin, females across the board experience the laughter and tears, fear and rejoicing of womanhood.
In “Stories 4 Women: A collection of true short stories,” South Bay authors Amy Higgins Artino, Ashley M. Ratcliff, Mary Scott and Rebecca Villaneda, regale true tales that demonstrate the unspoken solidarity that bonds women.
The four authors will host a book launch on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. at the Neptunian Woman’s Club, 920 Highland Ave. in Manhattan Beach.
Stories range from the somber situations of being the victims of sexual abuse and the death of a loved one, to the more whimsical reminiscences about teenage crushes and childhood tendencies. The stories were chosen to show that, regardless of age, race, political or religious affiliation, or background, ladies can all relate to the issues of womanhood.
The event is free and open to the public. The authors will be available to sign copies of their book, which will be available for sale.
