Hot Ballroom
Ballroom dancing comes to Hermosa Beach this Friday night, as South Bay celebrities will pair with professional dancers in a competition at the Hermosa Beach Community Theater.
The event begins at 7 p.m. and will raise money for charity. Fans can show up to watch the performances, and judges will decide the winners.
Anna Trebunskaya, who has appeared on multiple seasons of the hit reality show Dancing with the Stars, will serve as host. Trebunskaya also owns You Can Dance Studio on Aviation Blvd.
Debate
Candidates for City Council in the upcoming election will square off Tuesday night in a debate sponsored by the Hermosa Beach Neighborhood Council.
The debate will take place at City Council Chambers, and will begin at 7 p.m. There will be prepared questions from a panel, as well as opportunities for audience members to pose questions to the candidates.
Volleyball
Hermosa Beach will host the USA Junior Beach Tour Volleyball tournament on the Northside of the pier this Saturday.
The Premier Winter Open will feature competitions for boys and girls in 12-, 14-, 16- and 18-and-under divisions. Registration can be done Thursday, Friday and the day of on a space-available basis. Games begin at 9 a.m. ER
