The swimmer who disappeared while swimming off 18th Street in Manhattan Beach on Apr. 19 is still missing, according to a Los Angeles County Lifeguard spokesperson.
“He has not been found as of right now,” said Lidia Barillas.
Media reports identified the swimmer as 25-year-old Derrick Jeffries of Hawthorne.
“Subsurface searches,” including rescue divers, have stopped, Barillas said. Lifeguards stationed on land and Coast Guard helicopters continue to “keep an eye out” during their regular patrols. ER
