+ Chadwick School names Jessica Donovan Head of School

Jessica Donovan, currently the Head of School at Sheridan School, in Washington, D.C., has been named Chadwick School’s 14th Head of School, following a nine month, global search by the Chadwick board of trustees. Donovan will assume the position in July 2023.

She and her partner Ed Han, have two sons and two daughters, all between the ages of 19 and 25.

Donovan has spent 23 years in education, serving as a teacher, as a division director, and as assistant and head of school.

Her work at Sheridan included implementing data driven curriculum; leading renovations at Sheridan’s city and mountain campuses; building a culture of  philanthropy; increasing the diversity of faculty, staff and families; and overseeing the school’s strategic plan. 

Donovan earned her B.A. in English and American Literature from the University of California, Santa  Cruz, and her M.A. in Independent School Leadership from the Klingenstein Center at Teachers College,  Columbia University.

Donovan will succeed Tom Sheppard, who was appointed to a two-year term as Interim Head of School in 2021. Chadwick School has more than 850 K-12  students, and 180 faculty and staff.

Join the First Thursday ArtWalk on June 2nd, 2022, 5:30-9pm. in downtown San Pedro. Doulas Klug will be performing on the corner of 6th and Mesa and the Food Truck Alley will return to Mesa Street between 7th and 5th streets.

A Guided ArtWalk Tour will gather in the Artistry located at 491 West 6th Street. A limited number of free and donor tickets may be obtained by visiting:  https://tinyurl.com/54mpux72.  Redeemed donor Tickets receive a special treat at the Artistry gallery.

Galleries are welcoming guests, and masks may be required for all indoor locations.
