H.E.L.P. hosts autumn sunset
Healthcare and Elder Law Programs (H.E.L.P.) is a non-profit education and counseling center for seniors and their families. H.E.L.P. board treasurer Michael Barth and his wife Honeya opened their oceanfront Portuguese Bend Beach Club home for a reception to thank volunteers, advisors, and donors for their support. Executive Director Britt Huff gave an overview of programs and services provided to seniors over the past year, and Michael led discussion about opportunities to serve the senior community. Guests were treated to a beautiful sunset at evening’s end. For more about H.E.L.P. visit Help4srs.org.

State of the District
The first annual Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District (PVPUSD) State of the District event took plate at the Harlyne J. Norris Pavilion on October 2nd. Originally scheduled at the Peninsula Center Library, it was changed to the larger venue due to enormous demand. If you were not able to make the evening event, the presentation was recorded and is available on the PVPUSD website www.pvpusd.net to view. Dr. Alex Cherniss, Superintendent of PVPUSD, joined the community dialogue to discuss the priorities and challenges the district will be addressing in the 2019-2020 school year. Presented by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and the Peninsula Education Foundation (PEF).
