Two men tried to kidnap a 27-year-old woman Monday morning near Sepulveda Boulevard and 11th Street in Manhattan Beach, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department.
The woman had just gotten off the bus at Sepulveda and 8th Street a little before 8 a.m. and was walking north when a black Honda Civic with tinted windows cut her off, she said. The two men got out of the car, grabbed her and tried to pull her into the Honda when a Manhattan Beach police officer drove by. The men let her go and fled east on 11th Street.
The woman flagged down another police officer to report the crime. Her arms were scratched and her shirt was torn from the struggle, according to police. Police notified all surrounding agencies, but the suspects and car weren’t found.
MBPD is asking the public’s help to identify the suspects. The driver is described as a black man in his 30s, approximately six feet tall and bald with a tattoo behind his left ear. He was wearing a black shirt and jeans. The passenger is described as a black man in his 20s, about 5’6”, wearing white pants and a light blue shirt. The car is a newer model black Honda Civic. Those with information are asked to call 310-802-5127.
