The 5th Annual Manhattan Beach Golf Cart Parade takes place Sunday, October 27. Prizes will be awarded for most spooky, greatest group, cutest animal costume, and fan favorite. Voting at Pacific Elementary School, 1200 Pacific Ave., Manhattan Beach. At 4:45 p.m. the parade starts at Metlox Plaza, 451 Manhattan Beach Blvd., and heads to Hermosa Beach Pier. Good World Peace Halloween Party

Live music,  DJ, drinks, food, a costume contest, and more. This event is a fundraiser for the Good World Peace Factory, which supports mental health in teens through music and art, 5:30 to 11 p.m. 530 6th Street, Hermosa Beach. Tickets: GWPOP.org.

Carrie Community Movie Night

The cult horror film “Carrie” will be screened where it was filmed, at the former Hermosa Beach Pier Avenue Junior High, which is now the Hermosa Theater.now that scenes from “Carrie” were filmed at the Hermosa Beach Community Center? Come dressed in your best prom attire for a behind the scenes look at the filming spots used in the movie, complete with photo opportunities and haunted surprises. Spooky story time bonfire, El Segundo

Gather around the Recreation Park Fire Circle for spooky stories. It will be a night filled with stories, songs, s’mores, and spooky crafts. Free fun designed for kids ages 0-8 and their families. 6:30 p.m. Recreation Park, 401 Sheldon Street, El Segundo.

Slasher Night at Belle Epoque

Pumpkin Patch storytime

Locals and Legends Halloween concert

Through Sunday, October 27. Rock out this Halloween at the annual Locals and Legends Halloween concert in Riviera Village, Redondo Beach. This two-day event will feature local talent, iconic legends, and plenty of Halloween spirit. Gates open at 2 p.m. Gates close at 9 p.m. Catalina Avenue & Avenue I, Redondo Beach. Halloween Haunted House, MB Community Church

Trunk or Treat, Halloween Car show

Cruise At The Beach, Trunk or Treat Halloween show. Decorate your car trunks in a Spooktacular fashion and you might win 1 of 5 awards for Spookiest Trunk! Halloween Carnival, Manhattan Heights Park

Carnival games, costume contest and a parade, haunted house, cupcake walk, treats, refreshments, activities and more. Perfect for ages 2 to 14. Halloween Golf Cart parade

Join the 5th Annual Golf Cart Parade by decorating your cart and for a festive ride through Downtown Manhattan Beach. Spectators are encouraged to enjoy the parade. Prizes will be awarded for most spooky, greatest group, cutest animal costume, and fan favorite. 4 p.m. arrivals and voting at Pacific Elementary School, 1200 Pacific Ave., 4:30 p.m. winners announced, 4:45 p.m. Parade starts at Metlox Plaza, 451 Manhattan Beach Blvd., and heads to Hermosa Beach Pier. The parade then does a quick loop and returns back to Metlox Plaza. And finally at 5:15 p.m. the parade ends at Metlox Plaza for a post-celebration. Registration: golfcartcrew.com. The Phantom of the Opera, Old Town Music Hall

In this original silent version of “Phantom” Lon Chaney embodies the title character, a badly disfigured man in the catacombs of the Paris Opera House. Join the Manhattan Beach Police Department for a Spooktacular Halloween Trunk or Treat. Collect candy as you walk from car to car. All police and fire department vehicles will have different themes. 5 – 8 p.m. Police Department Parking lot off Valley Drive between 15th and 13th Street. Tacos will be sold!

Riviera Village Trick-0r-Treat

Trick or treat at Riviera Village! This event has become a South Bay tradition, attracting thousands of children each year to enjoy Halloween in a safe, outdoor and fun atmosphere. Catalina Avenue will be closed to traffic from Avenue I to S. Elena Street. Shops hand out candy and treats outdoors. 3 – 6 p.m. 

Halloween Storytime, N. Branch Library

A very special North Branch Halloween Storytime with Miss Helaire. Come in your costume or just as you are. 4 – 4:30 p.m. 2000 Artesia Blvd., Redondo Beach. All ages welcome. Tickets will be handed out at the Reference desk at 3:45 p.m.
