Hermosa Kiwanis tree lot benefits students

The Hermosa Kiwanis Tree Lot opens Friday, November 24, celebrating 38 years at Pier Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway. Trees of all sizes, along with wreaths, garlands, tree stands, and lights are offered. Local delivery and Santa pictures are also available. All of the proceeds go to local nonprofits and scholarships. 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Information: hermosakiwanis.org.

Torrance Turkey Trot fun run

The City of Torrance Community Services Department 43rd Annual Harry Sutter Memorial Turkey Trot 3-Mile Fun Run on Thanksgiving morning starts at 8 a.m. Participants receive a long sleeve shirt, and tickets for the opportunity drawing with prizes that include mountain bikes. Manhattan Village Holiday Tree lighting
