Open Ocean races (long and short) with outrigger canoes 1- and 2 persons, stand-up and prone paddleboards, surf skis, and V1s. Kids mini-course in the Harbor. Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority is looking for volunteers to assist with conducting Manhattan Beach’s homeless count from 8 – 11 p.m. All volunteers need to be at least 18 years old to participate. American Martyrs 5K Run/Walk & Wellness Fair

Craft & tea for adults, PV Library

A fun and calming decoupage craft and afternoon tea event. Decoupage art form involves cutting out paper and gluing it onto a surface to create a new design. Esplanade Habitat restoration

Volunteer with South Bay Parkland Conservancy to restore habitat for the endangered El Segundo blue butterfly and other native wildlife along the bluffs of Redondo Beach. This project will maintain existing habitat restoration that has been occurring in recent years between Miramar Park and Avenue I, performed by the Los Angeles Conservation Corps. 9 – 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Avenue E and Esplanade. Come prepared with clothes that can get dirty and wet. Closed toed shoes/boots, sunscreen, reusable water bottles and snacks. Registration and information: southbayparks.org

Blue Zones Project Social Hour 

Blue Zones Project’s quarterly Social Hour is an opportunity to experience good company and practice some of Blue Zones Project’s Power 9 Principles. Hermosa Greenbelt restoration

Volunteers needed in an ongoing effort to establish wildlife connectivity for the El Segundo Blue Butterfly, the Monarch Butterfly, and other pollinators. South Bay Park Conservancy welcomes volunteers out to the Hermosa Greenbelt to restore native habitat. 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. On the greenbelt at 2nd Street. Radiation Treatment for Breast Cancer– via Zoom

45th Annual Neptunian Woman’s Club Art Contest & Show

The deadline for K-12 students to submit artwork is Friday, March 7 at 3 p.m. Students/Parents need to first complete an online form then drop their artwork at the Main Offices of any MBUSD school, American Martyrs and Manhattan Academy. If a student doesn’t attend a Manhattan Beach school, but lives in Manhattan Beach, they are also welcome to submit their artwork. Also new this year as a pilot, Hermosa Valley school 5-8th graders will be invited to participate. You can find the online form at surveymonkey.com/r/25NN2NF. Make sure to save the date of Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m. for the Art Show at the Neptunian Woman’s clubhouse.
