Insomniac Night poetry open mic HB Museum

Interested in the music, poetry, art, and history of the Beatnik Movement? The Hermosa Beach Museum is hosting a night in honor of the historic Insomniac Cafe this month Drawing on the Insomniac’s history as a cultural touchstone, the evening will feature open mic poetry, art, and music along with coffee and light refreshments. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and poetry readings begin at 6 p.m. Open to all; high school students to seniors welcome to read. Registering for the event provides general admission. Dog walking SCBG

Grab your leash and your fur babies and head to the South Coast Botanic Garden during special dog-walking hours. Bring your four-legged friends to the Garden for a stroll throughout 87 acres. While there are a few areas off limits to the dogs (including the Dorothy and John Bohannon Rose Garden, the Koi Pond and the new Pollination Garden), the dogs are able to enjoy the majority of our beautiful oasis while remaining on leash.
