Saturday, February 10 and Sunday, February 11

Saturday and Sunday: Health and Fitness Expo. As part of the Super Bowl weekend festivities, a 2-day Health & Fitness Expo will be held Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday 6 – 11 a.m. Sponsored by Kaiser Permanente. Free. See all the great running and fitness accessories available today. 200 Portofino Way, Redondo Beach. 

Sunday – The race kicks off at 7 a.m. with the Kids’ 1K Fun Run (12 and under.) 7:30 a.m. the 10K Run, 8:15 a.m. 10K Baby Buggy Run, 8:30 a.m. 5K Run/Walk, and 8:45 a.m. 5K Stroller Walk. It all happens on Harbor Drive and Beryl, Redondo Beach. Registration and Information: redondo10k.com.

Sunday: Tailgate Party 

After the race, join the Super Bowl 10K/5K Tailgate party at Seaside Lagoon. Fanatics are encouraged to wear their favorite NFL team jerseys, gear and face paint for tickets in a raffle. 1 – 5 p.m. Join the contest to win “Favorite Fanatic.” Winner determined by crowd applause. Free for registrants of Super Bowl Sunday Race. No-host drinks and In-N-Out food truck. Must RSVP to santos@redondochamber.org. Seaside Lagoon, 200 Portofino Way, Redondo Beach.

Chemo-accessorize: Staying Positive with CSC South Bay

Cancer Support Community South Bay (CSC South Bay) free workshop led by Iris Lee Knell, LCSW cancer survivor and founder of Chemocessories. A positive attitude is of vital importance in the recovery process during cancer treatment. Looking better can help cancer patients feel better, and accessorizing can be very therapeutic. Sarah Hagen, the Perk Up Pianist in Torrance

Often referred to as the next Victor Borge, Sarah has transformed her award-winning role as “concert pianist” into a stand-up, or rather, sit-down comedy. Cancer Support Community South Bay (CSC South Bay) free workshop led by Lilly Padilla, a certified integrative nutrition coach, author and cancer survivor. Participants will learn how inflammation plays a critical role in digestion, body weight and metabolism. Discussion will include which foods are anti-inflammatory and a food demonstration will be provided that supports healthy bacteria and weight.
