HB Summer Sidewalk Sale & Lemonade Day

The Hermosa Sidewalk Sale and Lemonade Day will includes a pop-up market from the ShopFest Collective on the Upper Pier sidewalk, live music at Java Man , and Lemonade Day, in which children set up on the sidewalk and sell lemonade while competing for prizes. Saturday, Aug. 5 and Sunday, Aug. 6, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Information: hbchamber.net.

RBPD gift card drive

Hills Are Alive 5k/10k

The race returns for a 42nd year. Runners and walkers will meet at the historic Ernie Howlett Park, 25851 Hawthorne Blvd., Rolling Hills Estates. 8 a.m. start time. George F Canyon Guided Family Nature Preserve Walk 

10:30 a.m., with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy. Concerts in Polliwog Park

Psychedelic Summer will take the stage at 5 p.m. as part of the annual Concerts in the Park series at Polliwog Park. The series features concerts every Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. through Sept. 5. RB Library Teen craft

The Redondo Beach Public Library invites pre-teens and teenagers, grades 6-12, to bring a dark or brightly colored T-shirt to the North Branch and create patterns on it with bleach. The library will provide bleaching materials. The program is from 2 to 3 p.m. at the North Branch, 2000 Artesia Blvd.

BCHD Zumba in the Park

6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Julia Field at Alta Vista Park, 801 Camino Real in Redondo Beach. The workout is part of the Beach Cities Health District’s free fitness summer program and is designed so everyone can participate, regardless of age or ability level. HB Triathlon

Registration for the 2023 Tower 26 Hermosa Beach Triathlon is sold out, but spectators are welcome to watch the action. The event will take place from 7 to 11 a.m. on Aug. 13. There’s a quarter mile ocean swim, 10 mile bike ride and 3 mile run. The transition area is at the intersection of the Strand and the Pier. Information: hermosabeachtri.com.

Alive Day!

Wounded veterans will mark the day they were injured and celebrate their survival on Aug. 19 at Dockweiler State Beach in Playa Del Rey.
