
Running – Run, walk or baby jog along the sea at the annual Manhattan Beach Yuletide 5K on Saturday, Dec. 18. The 5K begins at 2 p.m. at the Manhattan Beach Pier followed by Kids Races at 3 p.m. Jingle Bracelets and Beachy T-Shirts to all pre-registered runners and to late registrants while supplies last. Soccer – Online registration for the Manhattan Beach Sand & Surf Soccer Winter League season is now open for boys and girls in U5, U6, U7, U8, U9, U10 and U12 divisions. The program incorporates individual skill development with small sided tactical development over a seven week season. Velocity Sports Performance is holding a camp for boys and girls soccer players in the 3rd – 8th grade.  This camp is designed specifically to improve agility, speed off the ball, first-step quickness, footwork, increase power in kicks and reducing the likelihood of injury. Basketball – Redondo Union High School will be holding its Basketball Alumni Night and Game on Saturday. Former players are invited to participate in a game versus other alumni or the current Redondo teams. The event begins at 5 p.m. with an Alumni vs. RUHS JV game followed by a 3-Point Shooting Contest at 6 p.m. The Alumni take on the Sea Hawk varsity squad at 6:30 p.m. Festivities conclude with an Alumni Reception at On the Rocks at 8 p.m. Fan admission is $10/person and includes a Redondo Basketball T-Shirt ($5 admission without t-shirt).
