Beach Cities voters favored Bloomfield, opposed Prop. 30 [VOTING CHART]

Voters in the Beach Cities cast their ballots fairly consistently with how voters throughout the district and state made their selections, except for Proposition 30 and for Congress.

A majority in the Beach Cities cast their ballots against Proposition 30, which funds schools and was approved statewide by 52.8 percent of voters in last week’s election.

Voters in each of the Beach Cities also supported President Obama over Mitt Romney and Bill Bloomfield over Henry Waxman in the 33rd Congressional District.

Voters in Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach favored Democrat Al Muratsuchi over Republican Craig Huey in the 66th Assembly race, while voters in Manhattan Beach favored Huey by a mere 20 votes: 6,814 to 6,794.

The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder and County Clerk’s Office is updating vote totals with more than 325,000 provisional ballots. Election results will be finalized Dec. 7.
