The creator of the Asics World Series of Beach Volleyball will speak at Pages bookstore tonight to promote the book Going Supernova: The Bold Paths of 101 Superachievers.

The story of Leonard Armato, a Manhattan Beach resident who has done much to professionalize the sport of beach volleyball, is featured among those of other South Bay residents in the book.

Armato founded the marketing firm Management Plus Enterprises, which represents beach volleyball player Kerri Walsh Jennings.

Author Molly Lavik interviewed hundreds of successful individuals to distill the formula of their success for her book.

“As a longtime South Bay resident and business owner, I’m honored to feature some of the South Bay’s brightest starts in the business community,” Lavik said in a press release for the event.

The booksigning is scheduled from 7-8:30 p.m. at Pages at 904 Manhattan Ave. in Manhattan Beach.
