Zane’s
Some might object that the food at Zane’s may be contemporary, but not American – steaks, pizzas, and Italian specialties do dominate the list. Our readers got it right – the contemporary American diet is eclectic, and Zane’s adds California touches to popular dishes. The cue comes right at the beginning of the meal – the hummos, roasted sweet peppers, and tapenade span the Mediterranean. Sesame crusted ahi with broccolini and ponzu sauce isn’t quite like anything served in Asia, save in California-themed restaurants, and the churros at dessert are as fine as any on either side of the border. Zane’s is tasteful but not wacky, and appreciated for it.
