Among many grateful Yelpers was a woman whose dog Butterscotch went to Bay Animal Hospital in an emergency. It turned out to be the last year of his life, but the doctors “provided excellent care that day and throughout.”

Once again Ailey Smith has earned the love of our readers, by earning the love of their dogs.
Smith, who is bonded, insured, and a member of Pet Sitters International, walks dogs, plays with dogs, gives them treats, helps them socialize with other dogs, and pet-sits dogs and cats.
One of many happy Yelpers called Smith “amazing.”
“I had a very sick dog who was special needs and Ailey worked with me to make sure my girl was looked after during the long hours I was at work.
“Now with my new dog Ailey boards him during the day because I’m gone long hours, and I know he’s looked after and greatly loved by all the walkers she has working for her.
“I can see it when they come by how much he loves them all…And when I get home he’s happy and relaxed because he’s been social and loved all day.”

“Everyone loves their job here,” he said.
For more than four decades the business has thrived on satisfied word of mouth, including a reputation for turning no animal away.
“We don’t discriminate,” Acosta said with a laugh. “They bite, we take them. They scratch, we take them. We take all the difficult dogs, the ones nobody wants to touch.”
Grooming services include “wash-and-go” express washes, haircuts, flea baths, nail trimming and anal gland expression.

Petco’s caring, knowledgeable staff comes equipped with an unrivaled array of food and treats, medications, habitat and toys. That sums up the view of our readers and their cats, dogs, fish, reptiles, birds, and various other animals.
Readers also praised the store for its obedience and protection training for dogs.
One of many Yelp ravers praised the patient, empathetic and “super friendly” staff that helped when she appeared with a brand-new rescue pet named Josie. In for a grooming, the happy animal “had a good time” and “came home smelling like Christmas cookies.”
Another Yelper, with a constipated puppy, was relieved to find a knowledgeable staffer who helped her sort her wet food choices, then showed her to the canned pumpkin, to help her “little guy use the restroom.”
