When Nettie Radke says that Radke Repipe and Repair is a family business, she means it: She does the bookkeeping and sets up appointments, while her husband Jeff and their sons go out and get into the pipes of their customers. Though the Radke family business has, itself, only been around for little more than a decade, the company has earned an impressive reputation for itself, surviving only on the strength of its referrals and reviews on websites such as Angie’s List.
“Our Christmas card list is our customers who have turned into friends of ours,” she says, going on to say that those friends are the ones giving them business. “Nine times out of ten, it’s someone that we know, or we know who referred them.”
“One of the only complaints we’ve gotten online was from someone who complained that we couldn’t do the job because my husband took his dream surf trip to Indonesia,” she said. “If the worst they can say about us is that we can’t take a job, well, ok!” D.M.
