Best Yoga Studio: Harmony Yoga Center

After tying for the runner-up position in 2011, Harmony took top honors this year under its new ownership. Najla Coury, who has taught at Harmony since 2002, purchased the studio from Chappell Foote in July 2011.

“As the new owner I am so excited for the future of our studio,” Coury said. “I realized I was not just buying a yoga studio, I was looking to build a community. We have a group of dedicated yoga practitioners that look forward to coming to yoga and they love the beach vibe of Harmony. We are laid back, non-pretentious and happy to serve the South Bay.

“The teachers here are all very passionate about Yoga and how it has been a huge part in their own day to day life. They are very supportive of their students and make anyone feel welcome to the space. We love yoga and it shows. Being voted the No. 1 yoga studio is an honor and we all appreciate it so much. Thanks for the opportunity to share.”

Harmony features the vinyasa flow style of yoga, a powerful and dynamic system that combines asana (posture), pranayama (breathing), and meditation accomplished through a step by step progression.

A wide variety of class options are available from beginning classes to advanced with specialty pricing for seniors, full-time student, law enforcement and yoga teachers.
