Bomb threat shuts down Target in Manhattan Beach [UPDATE: search complete, store reopened]

All employees and customers have been evacuated from the Target at 1200 Sepulveda Boulevard in Manhattan Beach in response to a bomb threat.

Manhattan Beach police sent out a notice at 1:17 p.m. on Wednesday that they were investigating the store with the fire department.

The bomb threat was made to an employee of the store by telephone. Everyone was evacuated so that the officers could search and evaluate the store.

The police haven’t evacuated the neighboring areas, but will notify residents if they decide to do so.

Police asked that any suspicious people or property be reported to 911 immediately.

Just in from MBPD: 

The Manhattan Beach Police Department along with support from neighboring agencies have completed the search of the Target Store.  Employees have returned inside and the store has reopened.
