The BeachLife Festival weekend began a few days early, on Wednesday May 1, with a performance by Pepper at the 2nd Annual BeachLife Festival Evening by the Sea Philanthropy Gala held at the PortoFino Hotel.
Filmmaker and former pro surfer Greg Browning was honored with the BeachLife Charger Award, which recognizes individuals who have “stoked” local beach life culture. Last Saturday, April 27, Browning was inducted into the Hermosa Beach Surfer Walk of Fame.
The Breakwall Award for South Bay non-profits was presented to the LA Kings’ Kings Care Foundation. Kings COO Kelly Cheeseman and Kings Vice President of Community and Hockey Development accepted the award. The evening included a silent auction benefiting the Jimmy Miller Foundation and other South Bay charities
