RH Prep Presents: This year’s annual Rolling Hills Prep School Author’s Luncheon, geared for middle schoolers, features Rachel Reilich, author of “The Trend Set,” about a gaggle of girls who end up with their own fashion label. Front & Center: Art d’ Art: The He(art) of the City, a night of artistic, musical and social expression will be held at and benefit the South Bay LGBT Center, at 16610 Crenshaw Blvd., Torrance (near El Camino College, across the street from a 7-Eleven store). Nicky’s Week Last Day! Today is the last of RA Sushi’s dining donations benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, cancer center. The restaurant together with its 25 locations across the US, will have donated 100% of its proceeds for ten days to support the hospital’s lifesaving mission. Do stop in. Eat, drink and be merry knowing that every dollar you spend will be more well-spent than you can imagine.

Sailing, Sailing… The community is invited to Sailing Sunday, the first Sunday of each month, from noon to sunset. Show up at noon or any time throughout the day. $35 per person (family discount available) includes sailing and a potluck BBQ.  The boats will be sailing on and off the dock, and the grill will be going all day, so please feel free to bring anything you would like to share or have grilled.  This informal and family-friendly day is a great chance to meet other sailors and get back on the water! 35-Author Fair: The 11th annual El Segundo Author Fair presents over thirty-five authors who will sign and sell their books, and two author panels on cooking and paranormal fiction, as well as a poetry corner. MCHS Jazz Fundraiser: What do today’s teens know about Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller?  Plenty, if they are members of Mira Costa’s two jazz bands which will be performing at Sangria, with a lively 2-hour swing set, from 6 – 8 p.m. at 68 Pier Ave, Hermosa Beach.
