Santa 

With help from the Redondo Beach Police Officers Association, Santa will be visiting Redondo Beach neighborhoods through Dec. 16. To find out when Santa will be in your neighborhood, go to Redondo.org or RedondoBeachPOA.com.

Live musical theater

“Elf the Musical” is coming to Redondo Union High School 7 p.m. on Dec. 9, Dec. 10 and Dec. 11 and 2 p.m on Dec. 12 in the school auditorium.

Nativity exhibit

Christmas comedy 

Kentwood Players presents “The Ultimate Christmas Show (Abridged),” a holiday comedy revue  through Dec. 19. Showtimes are 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Santa Stroll

The 2nd annual California Great Santa Stroll is set for 9 a.m. on Dec. 11 at the Hermosa Beach Pier Plaza. Hundreds of Santas will be running, walking or strolling along The Strand during this 5K event to benefit Mychal’s Learning Place. All participants will be given a Santa suit with their registration. Toy drive

The Point in El Segundo is partnering with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for a Holiday Block Party and Toy Drive. Guests who donate a new toy or household item will receive a shopping and dining passport to unlock special holiday incentives at The Point. Enjoy holiday decorations, balloon animals and more. Holiday car show

Cruise at the Beach will return to King Harbor for a thirteenth year on Dec. 11, noon-6 p.m. The holiday car and bike show will feature live music, trophies for the best entries, a 50/50 raffle, a toy drive and more.

Registration is $25, which includes a T-shirt, dash plaque and goodie bag.

Holiday concert

The community is invited to a free holiday concert 2-4 p.m. on Dec. 11 at the Redondo Beach Pier on Fisherman’s Wharf, the west end of the pier, behind Tony’s. Boat Parade

If you’re at the Redondo Pier for the concert, stick around and you can enjoy King Harbor Yacht Club’s Holiday Boat Parade in the main channel. Specatcularly decorated sail and power boats are scheduled to cruise along the main channel at 5:30 p.m. Prior to that, decorated SUPs will paddle past spectators beginning at 4:30. “Nutcracker”

Pier fireworks

This year’s Skechers Manhattan Beach Holiday Fireworks Festival is set for Dec. 12, 3-8 p.m., at the pier. Snow park will be open 3-6 p.m. Live music begins at 4 p.m. with roaming carolers and the Hyperion Outfall Seranaders. Fireworks will go off at 7 p.m. Attendees are welcome to bring blankets, beach chairs and picnic dinners. For safety reasons drones are not permitted. Holiday fundraiser

Registration is open for the second annual Light Up the Beach Cities, an online holiday decorating contest benefitting the Roundhouse Aquarium’s educational programs. Southern California residents and businesses are invited to enter. The entry fee is $30. Contestants are asked to upload photos of their decorations. Voting will then take place online.

Santa’s hood

With a little help from the city of Hermosa Beach and the L.A. County Fire Department, Santa will be visiting Hermosa Beach neighborhoods 4:30-6 p.m. on Dec. 15. The Drive-By Holiday Parade features Santa on his sleigh.

Toy and coat drive

The Redondo Beach Police Department’s Domestic Violence Advocacy Program is hosting a toy and coat drive until Dec. 15. The program is collecting gift cards, new, unwrapped toys and new coats (kids and adult sizes). For drop-off options, call Ericka at 310-379-2477, ext. 2336. 

Holiday concert

Los Cancioneros Master Chorale will present “A Holiday Festival” under the direction of Allan Petker at 7 p.m. on Dec. 19 at the Armstrong Theatre in Torrance. “The Shop Around the Corner” opened Dec. 3 at El Camino College and continues at 8 p.m. on Dec. 10 and Dec. 11 and 3 p.m. on Dec. 12.

Live musical 

“The Importance of Being Earnest,” a musical based on the classic Oscar Wilde play, continues through Dec. 19 at 1316 Cabrillo Ave. in downtown Torrance. CPR, first aid classes

Registration is open for adult and pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED training at the Joslyn Center in Manhattan Beach. Classes will be held on Saturdays in 2022. The dates are Jan. 8, Feb. 5, April 2, June 11, Aug. 6, Oct. 8 and Dec. 3. Each class is from 8 a.m-3 p.m. and limited to 20 persons. There is no charge for residents of Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach. The classes are presented by the Manhattan Beach Community Emergency Response Team. Must be 18 or older. Super Bowl 10/5/1K

Registration is open for the 44th annual Redondo Beach Super Bowl 10K Run & 5k Run/Walk, which will take place on Feb. 13. There’s also a Health & Fitness Expo that starts on Feb. 12, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and continues race day from 6-11 a.m. A 1K Kid’s Fun Run begins at 7 a.m., followed by the 10K at 7:30 a.m., the 10K Baby Buggy Run at 8:15 a.m. and the 5K Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m. The entry fee for the 5, 10 and Baby Buggy 10K is $45 until Feb. 11 and $50 race weekend. Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach (CSCRB) presents this free support group the first and third Thursday of each month for children ages 5-12 who have a family member with cancer. Facilitated by Nadine Shoukry, an associate marriage and family therapist, the group offers children an opportunity to make friends and learn new skills for living with the stresses of having cancer in the family. In a small supportive group setting, children living with cancer will talk, learn and grow together.
