Lunch and Learn: Cancer Support “Chemo Brain”
Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach (CSCRB) hosts Kathleen Van Dyk, PhD, UCLA neuropsychologist on Friday, April 26, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at 109 West Torrance Blvd., Redondo Beach. Van Dyk will discuss and answer questions concerning cognitive problems after cancer treatment (sometimes called “chemo brain”). The scientific understanding about why these symptoms occur and how to manage them will be examined. A nutritious lunch will be provided by The Spot restaurant in Hermosa Beach from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Advance registration required. The session will be led by a licensed professional from the Thelma McMillen Center at Torrance Memorial Medical Center and provides an opportunity to discuss shared parenting challenges.
