This is DMG’s first acquisition within the iGaming sphere and gives the company a foothold into the industry.
CasinoHeadlines.com, an iGaming News Publisher, just got acquired by Damage Media Group (DMG) for an undisclosed amount. Starting from November, the company will take ownership of all the assets the previous team held, including the content, domain name and social media accounts.
This is DMG’s first acquisition within the iGaming sphere and gives the company a foothold into the industry. The website will be integrated as a part of their international network of publications and will complement the current line-up of news sites.
Full Launch is Set for February 2022, Redesign Planned
CasinoHeadlines.com will be migrated from the previous platform to WordPress, after which it will be placed on one of Kinsta’s managed hosting solutions. Once the groundwork has been finished, TagDiv will enter the sphere, install their NewsMag Pro theme, and customize it to DMG’s liking. This is the same move Damage has been implementing and refining since the start of their venture, with several other sites in their portfolio sitting on the same setup.
The acquisition of CasinoHeadlines.com does not transfer the previous team to the new owners, Damage will form a new one that will lead their content strategy for 2022. Three positions are open as of now, an Editor in Chief that will lead the team and the strategy, an Editorial Assistant that will help with execution, and a Graphic Designer that will form the design tone of CasinoHeadlines.com and help with Social Media assets.
When it comes to iGaming itself, the industry has been enjoying quite a renaissance in the last two years. Several countries introduced their legal framework for betting and casino licences, with Germany, Greece, and parts of LatAM being just some of them.
