Catalina Classic Commemorative Statue photography contest

Catalina Classic Paddleboard Commemorative Statue. Easy Reader file photo

A photography contest whose sole subject is the Catalina Classic Commemorative Statue at the Manhattan Beach pier is being hosted by the South Bay Boardriders Club, Paul’s Photo and Easy Reader.

The statue was installed three weeks ago to commemorate the annual Catalina Classic Paddleboard race, from Catalina Island to the Manhattan Beach pier. The sculpture was funded by the South Bay Boardriders Club, and created by former Hermosa Beach pro surfer Chris Barela.
