NOTICE INVITING PROPOSALS
Notice is hereby given that the City of Hermosa Beach will receive sealed proposals at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 1315 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254 until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud, for performing work as follows:
PROVIDE AND INSTALL CARPET TILES IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS
BRAND: Kraus modular tile with coordinating Broadloom
TILE SIZE: 24 X 24
TOTAL SQUARE FEET: 2,178
COLOR: To be determined
PILE WEIGHT: 20.0 Ounce Per Square Yard
TIME FRAME FOR INSTALLATION: Not to exceed three (3) consecutive days
Late proposals will not be accepted.
The proposal shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to the City Clerk, City of Hermosa Beach, 1315 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254 and shall be identified in the lower left corner of the envelope “sealed bid/CARPET TILES AND INSTALLATION IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS.”City Hall is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
No proposal shall be considered unless it is made on proposal forms furnished by the Director of Public Works.
Complete specifications, instructions to bidders, proposal, agreement, general and special provisions may be obtained at the office of the Director of Public Works, City of Hermosa Beach or on the City’s website at http://www.hermosabch.org/index.aspx?page=667 beginning Thursday, August 7, 2014.
A pre-bid non-mandatory site visit to obtain exact measurements will be made available upon requests only. All questions regarding this proposal must be submitted in writing to Ells Freeman, Public Works Superintendent, on or before 3:00 p.m. on August 14, 2014 via email to lzeigler@hermosabch.org or by phone at (310) 318-0222. It is the responsibility of the bidder to inquire as to the issuance of any addenda prior to the submittal of bid.
A City of Hermosa Beach business license is required to do contracted work in the City of Hermosa Beach.
The City of Hermosa Beach reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularity or informality in any bid to the extent permitted by law.
The City of Hermosa Beach reserves the right to delete any item of the bid or to increase quantities/frequencies in any bid item after awarding the agreement.

PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the City of Hermosa Beach shall hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, to consider the following:
- Amendment to Precise Development Plan to reconfigure offices, decks, and stairways together with façade and elevation changes and Parking Plan to allow a reduction of 14 parking spaces in a multi-tenant building at 1301 Manhattan Avenue, and determination that the project is Categorically Exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (continued from the May 20, June 17 and July 15, 2014 meetings).
- Conditional Use Permit, Precise Development Plan and Vesting Tentative Parcel Map No. 72838 for a two-unit condominium at 438 Hermosa Avenue, and determination that the project is Categorically Exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act(continued from the June 17and July 15, 2014 meetings).
- Amendment to General Plan Land Use Map from Commercial Corridor (CC) to Medium Density Residential (MDR) and amend text for consistency, Conditional Use Permit, Precise Development Plan and Vesting Tentative Parcel Map No. 72717 for a seven-unit condominium at 1818, 1830 & 1834 Pacific Coast Highway, and determination that the project is Categorically Exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (continued from July 15, 2014 meeting)
- Amendment to General Plan Land Use Map from General Commercial (GC) to Low Density Residential (LD) and amendment to Zoning Map from General Commercial (C-3) to One-Family Residential (R-1) on a 7,500+ square foot parcel located at 1222-1230 Corona Street and adoption of an Environmental Negative Declaration.
- Parking Plan to classify a new food establishment (Scapegoat Coffee Co.) as a ‘snack shop’ for purposes of calculating parking requirements at 25 Pier Avenue (currently Pier Surf), and determination that the project is Categorically Exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act.
- Conditional Use Permit, Precise Development Plan and Vesting Tentative Parcel Map No. 72919 for a two-unit condominium at 1720 Prospect Avenue, and determination that the project is Categorically Exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act.
SAID PUBLIC HEARINGS shall be held at 7:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard,in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 1315 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254.
ANY AND ALL PERSONS interested are invited to participate and speak at these hearings at the above time and place. For inclusion in the agenda packet to be distributed, written comments of interested parties should be submitted to the Community Development Department, Planning Division, in care of City Hall at 1315 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254 prior to Thursday, August 14, 2014, at 12:00 noon. All written testimony by any interested party will be accepted prior to or at the scheduled time on the agenda for the matter.
