Community Garden approaches opening at Alta Vista

The first Redondo Beach Community Garden is taking shape at Alta Vista Park, with planter boxes built and a rental application-period about to open. The 27-box garden is expected to open in May or June.On March 4 and March 11, about 35 volunteers gathered to work at the site. The City Public Works Department built the perimeter fence and four Boy Scouts designed and led the construction of the 4 x 8-foot boxes for their Eagle project – with wood supplied by Public Works. South Pay
