COVID’s toll increases by three in Beach Cities

COVID-19 claimed two more lives in Hermosa Beach and one in Manhattan Beach last week, bringing the total in the three Beach Cities since the start of the pandemic to 28, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. Local businesses reporting COVID-19 infections this week included Gelsons (25 cases) in Manhattan Beach, and Kohls (16) and Target (13) in Redondo Beach. Local schools reporting cases this week included La Marina Preschool (4 staff, 3 students), Manhattan Beach Middle School (3 staff, 1 student) and Valor Christian Academy (5 staff). — Kevin Cody  ER
