Size matters. Del Amo motorsports started out as a modest 6,000 square foot showroom and mechanic station on Aviation Boulevard in Redondo Beach almost 30 years ago. Today the company has three locations — its flagship store in Redondo on Marine Ave., another in Costa Mesa, and one in Long Beach. The 45,000 square-foot Redondo store offers a wide range of new bikes, parts and accessories, as well as an expert service department. It’s a range of services, product line, and events that only a large store can provide, says the Redondo Beach store’s Ersin Sirvican.
“We have a huge showroom and it’s really fun for motorcycle enthusiasts to be here,” Sirvican said. “It’s not only one brand or a couple models — we carry six or seven brands and everything from watercraft to dirt bikes, so when they walk in here it’s like Disneyland for them. They love to be here — so many people, when they have a couple hours to kill, they just come in and check things out.”
The shop also also hosts big customer appreciation events a few times a year featuring power sports stars, such as a recent event featuring stunt rider Jason Britton. “It’s music, food, and attractions for the whole family — not just riders, but kids and everyone in the family,” Sirvican said. “Things like that smaller dealerships just can’t do.”
