Palos Verdes native Dennis McNeil performed an evening of Irish songs on Sunday, March 11 at Live at the Lounge in Hermosa Beach. But he nearly upstaged himself with a series of Irish jokes, worthy of a performance at the next door Comedy and Magic Club. Here’s one of them.
The brewmasters of Heineken, Budweiser and Guinness were sitting down for lunch together at a brewer’s convention when their server asked what they would like to drink. “I’ll have a Heineken,” said the Heineken brewmaster. “I’ll have a Bud,” said the Bud brewmaster. “I’ll have a diet Coke,” said the Guinness brewmaster. The Heineken and Bud brewmasters looked at one another and, then, in one voice, asked the Guinness brewmaster why he hadn’t ordered a Guinness. “I wanted to,” he answered, “but since you two aren’t drinking, I thought I shouldn’t either.”
