On Tuesday August 25th local surfers gathered at the King Harbor Brewing Company’s Waterfront Tasting Room for the launch of  KHBC’s “Surf Club Night” in collaboration with local surf company Hippy Tree “Surf & Stone” clothing.

“Hippy Tree and its green tree emblem is synonymous with the South Bay, “ said Tom Dunbabin, part owner of King Harbor Brewing Co said. “As expected, and one of the reasons we chose them for the launch, Hippy Tree packed the waterfront with a lot of its tribe.”

“The goal of King Harbor Brewing Company Surf Club Nights is to partner with a local surf brand or shops, raffle off some insane gear, listen to great beats courtesy of Dirty Hippie Radio and drink amazing beer on special,” Dunbabin said.

Dive N’ Surf’s Tracey Meistrell held the fort, as well as local shapers James Wheatley and Jose Barahona. Mike Purpus strolled in around midway and Cheyne Magnusson made it just in time for the last call and is excited to be next month’s guest bartender.12

“We want to bring the local community together for a good time,” Dunbabin said. “We plan on having our King Harbor Surf Surf Club nights the last Tuesday of every month. Come check us out.”
