Labor day parties may be happening, but DUI checkpoints will be as well.
According to the Redondo Beach police department, “law enforcement isn’t easing up; everyone found driving over the limit will be arrested.”
A DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint is scheduled for Sept., 3, at an undisclosed location beginning at 6 p.m. along with roving DUI patrols throughout the weekend.
“Our message is simple and unwavering,” said RBPD Chief Joe Leonardi. “If we find you driving impaired, we will arrest you. No exceptions. Even if you beat the odds and manage to walk away from an impaired-driving crash alive, the trauma and financial costs of a crash or an arrest for driving while impaired can still destroy your life.”
If you notice somebody driving while impaired, please notify local police by calling 9-1-1 immediately and by identifying the vehicle by make model and license plate.
