CULTURE SHOCK LA

Culture Shock Los Angeles, established in 1994, is a non-profit Hip Hop dance organization dedicated to Dance Education, Community Outreach, Professional Entertainment, and the preservation of Hip Hop culture. Our school and community programs serve more than 720 children and their families each year.

Mini Shock LA, Mighty Shock LA and Future Shock LA comprise our Youth Dance Companies. As with all the Shock LA companies, dancers are empowered to strive for a lifestyle that embraces acceptance, achievement, positive self-expression and self- confidence. Please come support our youth teams at their show entitled, “The Light”.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Inspired by “Keepers of the Flame”, an animated poem created by Peter and Paul Reynolds, “The Light” pays tribute to the torch burning in the hearts of children, as well as the inextinguishable love and impact teachers and mentors have on the youth. The production features a cast of more than 65 dancers from various styles and ranging in age from 5 to 35 years old. Proceeds from the show support the organization's dance education programs that allow us to continue fostering the light inside our students.
