From Mrs. Clause to Mrs. Seal.
On day 148 of an attempt of a year straight surfing, things got a bit festive. I got down to the waters edged and suited up – not just in a wetsuit, but also in some attire that normally wouldn’t be surf or ocean-friendly. Wearing a long reg garmet and some candy cane socks, I paddled out with Santa, who was impressing the crowd on the pier by hanging 10 and doing off the lips on his 10′ longboard.

After the North side of the pier had its fill of Mr. and Mrs. Clause, I de-robed, kept my jet black seal suit on, and paddled over to the south side, which drew me over with it’s longboard friendly rights and lack of bodies, save my buddy Kris Hall. Kris and I either switched off or shared waves and flew down peeling lines, him switching stances and twirling with a confident style, and me watching his every move and trying to learn what I could from the South Bay hotdogger. The day had many bright colors, waves, smiles and laughs – not much more you could ask for.
