Although 2016 started bright and early at 7 a.m. with a long day at work, an afternoon delight session for my first surf of the year kicked things off with a bang.
I can already feel the energy of 2016. The air seems to be alive with motivation and passion everywhere, and I’m set on moving forward in many areas of my life and continuing to grow my skills as a surfer, waterwoman, and a person in general.
As I sat around at New Years “happy hour” with Frank and Annie Paine, Jose and Jimmy Barahona, Boris Vishnevsky, and many others in my surf family that evening, and we asked each other about our greatest moment of the previous year. I couldn’t possibly narrow down a single occasion, but re-bonding with the ocean, helping make my magic blue board with Jose, the Hotdogger Longboard contest, and meeting or reconnecting with my surf family are all tied for not just the best parts of 2015, but my best moments in life. I can’t even imagine what’s ahead. 2016, you’re simply going to be the best year ever.
