Just as the tide is sure to rise and fall, the colors in the sea are always changing, rendering at least a slightly different hue on any given day.

The grey of yesterday became the green of today, and while stoked new shredder Ario got a lesson from the surf guru and assistant Redondo Surf Team coach Frank Paine, a small group of us, which included Boris Vishnevsky and Chris Philip, made our way into an especially fun surf party.  The peaky little waves were holding up so well, effortlessly propelling us into lively little pockets.  Chris, on a green board, was getting a barrel here and there, the minty shade of his stick blending in with the glow of the ocean.

And off to Brothers Burritos it was – Ario, who was previously nervous about anything and everything to do with the ocean, was standing outside with a look of pure elation on his face, praising and thanking Frank for finally getting him in the water.  Almost a year ago, Frank took Boris Vishnevsky under his wing, and now Frank and Boris are inseparable, out charging the waves in Hermosa almost every day.  And Boris has gotten really good.

Stoked Ario said his goodbyes and planned for another meetup at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow.  Do we have a new Hermosa surfer on the rise?  It sure seems so.
