There was some serious girl power in the ocean on day 275 of 366 days surfing.
Kira Lingman, my rockstar hero, and Sam Villasenor, my childhood neighbor, appeared on the beach while I was bobbing around in the bumpy water and better-than-they-looked waves.
Kira, who is also manager at Becker surfboards, is on a mission to get back in the water and surf as much as possible. So after jumping in with her this past Tuesday, she was back at it only 2 days later, looking stoked as ever. Sam, Kira and I traded off on waves and conversation, and it was so nice to be around a giggly group of girls – a change from the usual pack of guys around (not complaining, my surf dads are awesome people).
Side note — the after surf King’s Hawaiian French Toast at Brother Burritos is enough to keep anyone silent, even a small group of huge chatter-bugs.
