A dozen LA skate shops competed in the Second Annual Globe Snake Session at Globe’s U.S headquarters in El Segundo this month. OC Ramps built a 60-foot-wide ramp in the alley next to Globe for the four-member teams to skate.
El Segundo’s Beyond Meat kept the skaters fed, Redondo’s King Harbor Brewing and Later Days Coffee kept them happy, and Box water kept them hydrated.
2017 winner Ronnie Sandoval was unable to defend his title due to an injury, But his Carson shop Transitions was well represented by Rick Fabro, Robbie Russo, and Riley Stevens. Other top skaters included Chris Russell and Bryan Torrellias from ET Surf, Jared Cleland from Spyder Surf, Cedric and Roman Pabich from Furnace, Tristan Funkhouser and Eddie Moreno from Val Surf, Willy Lara from the Ave, Sky Siljeg from Black Market and Shane Allison from Unmodern.
Each heat featured six to seven skaters in a jam Snake Session format lasting six to eight minutes. ET’s Chris Russell took home the coveted, hand crafted Snake Session trophy, which will be on display at ET until next year’s Snake Session.
