RUNNERS TO HIT THE STREETS OF EL SEGUNDO
27th Annual El Segundo PTA Run for Education is set for Saturday, April 21, 2018
The El Segundo Council of Parent Teacher Associations
(PTA) is proud to announce the 27th Annual Run for Education 5K |10K and Kids’ Fun Run, which will take place on Saturday, April 21, 2018. The 5K |10K begins at 8:00 a.m. in front of El Segundo High School at 640 Main Street. The award ceremony for the 5K |10K will take place at 9:00 a.m. at Library Park. The 1/2K Kids Fun Run will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the 1K Kids Fun Run at 10:15 a.m. By popular demand, we are offering 5K |10K Four-Person Team Competitions. New this year is our Starting Line Corrals categorized by Elite Runners, General Runners, General Walkers and Walkers with Strollers to provide participants a safe start. All registered participants will receive race t-shirts and finishers medals with overall winners plus 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in all men’s and women’s age groups receiving placement medals. Both 5K |10K courses are USATF certified featuring electronic chip timing.
Big Five Sporting Goods is the Run’s title sponsor for its third year. Participating sponsors will have booths at our Health & Fitness Expo located at Library Park from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. El Segundo’s PTA Run is a 100% volunteer run event, drawing over 3,000 participants, with profits going back to the El Segundo public schools.
