Extraordinary Tales in Music

Featuring the music of William E. Doyle, composer/director

May 17 @ 8 p.m. | Tickets $21/$10 | Marsee Auditorium

Anthony Moreno, baritone

Eleen Hsu-Wentlandt, mezzo-soprano

Manuel Arellano, piano

Ars Nova Chamber Ensemble

The concert begins with a Monologue from a young Edgar Allan Poe (1809-49) at the University of Virginia. He’s just been dismissed from the university because of his drinking and gambling debts. Poe takes us on his literary journey to visit the places he had only read about — and we discover what a wild and vivid imagination he has!

From the Odyssey and travels of Marco Polo, to two of his most famous works — The Raven and The Cask of Amontillado.
