Shark Week at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium
Shark Week returns to Cabrillo Marine Aquarium Sunday, August 5th and Tuesday August 7th through the 11th, 2018. Cabrillo Marine Aquarium’s Shark Week will feature special shark crafts and activities daily!
The Exploration Center invites kids of all ages to participate in an exciting shark egg case craft that they can take home. Plus! Learn why sharks are so important for our marine eco-system and how we can help protect them from extinction.
The Marine Research Library at the Aquarium will have special shark videos, Shark Week books, and exciting shark word searches and puzzles to solve.
Cabrillo Marine Aquarium Collections will also have a shark specimen display, featuring real shark egg cases, shark skin and shark jaws.
Other daily activities include a Shark Week fact scavenger hunt, special Shark Week photo opportunities and a special Shark Week auditorium presentation about the different sharks that live in our oceans and how humans are impacting their populations and environments.
Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is located at 3720 Stephen M. White Drive in San Pedro on the shores of Cabrillo Beach and is a facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks with support from FRIENDS of Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. Public hours are Tuesday through Friday from 12 noon to 5 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Mondays.
