Huge crowds converged at the Redondo Beach Pier for the July 4th Fireworks celebration, where city officials returned to the classic format.
Last year a drone show replaced Redondo Beach’s July 4th fireworks because of new environmental laws. However, the city voted 4-0 to bring back the traditional show for 2024.
The city contracted with Garden State Fireworks for a barge-based show. It also worked with PI Environmental Consultants to ensure the fireworks were in compliance with the new State Water Board regulations.
The city paid $119,171 for Garden State’s services. In 2024, Redondo paid $30,000 for the drone show.
