Police were seeking a gunman who tied up an employee and stole merchandise and cash from Avanti Jewelry on Pacific Coast Highway about 11 a.m. Tuesday.
The suspect was described as African-American, 25 to 35 years old, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, wearing a grayish hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans, with an “unkempt Afro hairstyle.”
The man entered the store and asked the employee to show him some items, then produced a weapon described as a small, dark “machine-gun” pistol with a long magazine, police said. The man ordered the victim to the back of the store, where he tied him up.
“The suspect then stole cash and jewelry from multiple display cases before leaving the scene. The employee believes once he was restrained, a second suspect aided the first in the robbery,” Hermosa Beach Police Chief Greg Savelli said.
“The victim was able to free himself from his bindings and immediately called police,” Savelli said.
The suspect was last seen on foot, leaving the area northbound on Pacific Coast Highway.
Police urged anyone who may have seen the man or has any information to contact Detective Jon Sibbald at 310-318-0341. ER
A shooting in a gun free zone? How could that possibly have happened?
Oh that’s right, the gun free zone statutes don’t deter criminals willing to assault, rob, rape and commit other violent crimes. Gun free zones do disarm every law-abiding citizen within them and are thus victim disarmament zones.
The gun free zone is a sham sold to us by our lazy good-for-nothing legislators whom are too damn lazy to actually deal with crime problems. Let good citizens defend themselves and crime will drop.
There must be a hole in the impenetrable gun free school zone barrier. There is no way that the fantasy of gun control could be false! For now lets make another law that puts honest, respectful, law abiding, tax paying, kind, educated, brave, loving Patriots (you know the ones that are too busy to rob a jewelry store because they are working two jobs in order to put food on the table) at risk while Frodo tries to destroy the magic ring, and bring us back to the Shire.
