A driver going west bound on Artesia lost control of her vehicle during a turn and hydroplaned into the Chevron parking lot, hitting the curb and running over a flower bed and landing on pipes. Two passengers were in the vehicle, nobody was hurt.

10 traffic accidents have already been reported since 6 a.m making today a perilous day to be on the road.

Sergeant Phil Keenan warns drivers to, “slow down and give yourself more time. Your car will not stop like you think it will because of the conditions.”

Rain is expected to continue throughout the day creating hazardous driving conditions.

“The conditions are extremely poor,” said Keenan. “The slow drizzle makes the roads slick, but it’s not heavy enough to clear the roads. It’s just enough to bring up oil and make it dangerous.”

More accidents are expected throughout the evening
