Two-term Hermosa Beach City Councilmember Justin Massey will not seek a third term in the November 5 general election.
“Hermosa is a better place than it was when I joined the Council, and I am happy to pass the baton while staying involved,” Massey stated in a press release on Monday.
As a result of Massey’s decision not to run, the filing deadline for two vacant seats on the November 5 city council election has been extended from Thursday, August 8 to Wednesday August 14.

Detoy was elected in 2019, and is a Fire Captain with the city of Riverside.
